Shopify

WooCommerce got off to a good start: free, flexible, inside the WordPress you already had. Then the plugins became thirty, every update became a risk for the checkout and hosting became your problem.

We move your shop to Shopify without losing data, rankings or orders.

WHEN IT’S TIME

PLUGINS

Every feature is a plugin, and every plugin has its own update schedule. When two of them clash, the first to notice is the customer at checkout.

HOSTING

Servers, cache, backups, security patches and PHP versions are your responsibility. So are the slowdowns during traffic peaks.

PERFORMANCE

The catalogue grows, and so do the queries. The shop slows down in exactly the weeks when it should be selling the most.

MAINTENANCE

Half of the technical budget goes on keeping what’s there standing, instead of improving it.

WHAT WE BRING ACROSS

Every piece of data has a precise place on Shopify. Some of it gets there as it is, some needs rethinking: better to find out during the analysis than on launch day.

What we do

Simple and variable products

Products with variants

We rethink variants with many attributes: Shopify has a limit on options per product.

Attributes and custom fields (ACF, meta)

Metafields and metaobjects

We map every field and drop the ones nobody uses any more.

Categories and tags

Collections and menus

We rebuild the navigation, not just the category tree.

Customers

Customers

Passwords can’t be transferred: we plan the reactivation invitations.

Order history

Historical orders

We import them for customer care and analysis, without triggering notifications to customers.

Coupons and discount rules

Discount codes and automatic discounts

We recreate the active rules and assess the custom ones one by one.

WordPress blog and pages

Shopify blog or separate WordPress

We decide together where the content lives (see below).

/product/ and /product-category/ URLs

Fixed /products/ and /collections/ URLs

301 redirects mapped one by one before launch.

What about the blog?

On WooCommerce, shop and content live in the same WordPress. Shopify has a blog, but a basic one.

If your content brings in traffic, there are three ways to go: migrate it to Shopify with metaobjects, keep WordPress for a magazine linked to the shop, or go headless. We work on both platforms, so we have no reason to push you towards either: your traffic data decides.

Integrations

Management software, ERP, warehouse, couriers and payments are reconnected to the new platform.

In Italy there’s one piece the American guides forget: electronic invoicing. We connect it from day one, not after launch.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes. It’s one of the three possible routes, and often the most sensible one when the blog brings in a lot of organic traffic. The shop moves to Shopify, the content stays where it performs.

  • Yes: passwords are stored encrypted and no platform can read or transfer them. We prepare a reactivation message and send it at the right moment, not on launch day in the middle of everything else.

  • WooCommerce looks free, but you pay for hosting, premium plugin licences, maintenance and updates. Shopify has a subscription and fees that depend on the plan and the payment methods. During the analysis we put the two costs side by side, with your numbers.

  • They can usually be imported into a reviews app on Shopify, with author, date and rating. We check this on your current system during the analysis.
